Thank you TigerDave! Another thing that happened as a message: Unfortunately the process com.google.process.gaps has stopped. Later, I tried to download a file from google store, and it would not find it. I started to freak out, but did a quick search and someone pointed at the download service...

I have just rooted my S3 and 'froze' a lot of the bloat, and this dreaded message came up. I did as suggested, defrosted the download manager, and bingo, message gone. Thank you very much. You rock.
