Same here, no SMS sound and am using stock sms app sent from my Verizon Note2...

I don't get any notification sounds when SMS comes in. I have sound on in notification pull down and also sound is selected in SMS settings. And under sound settings, the volume for notifications is at max. I get sounds for other notifications. sent from my Verizon Note2...
