Yes, you can download it and watch offline. It's just a pain to get it restarted after pausing.

The only reason I'm even remotely thinking about switching, is for Netflix. I really hope it comes to the Transformer without rooting. That's a big one that might make me switch if it doesn't.

YES! I had a rented video pinned (downloaded) and I paused it after 20 minutes, and I gave up trying to get it restarted again. I rebooted, then tried to fast forward to the 20 minute mark and it froze again. Tried several times. Ended up rebooting one more time and just watching the first...

I rented a movie from the marketplace and stored it offline, just to see if it works. It does. Now only if there were a better selection of movies.
