Haven't seen the commercial, don't think it's false advertising. It's a matter of comparison, every phone has a different speaker volume capability. As for the hidden away thing, isn't it an HTC Sense-specific feature? They could say it rings LOUDER than it NORMALLY would when its tucked away...

The battery life is not really a problem for me. Only thing tho, I wish the speaker volume would be more like that of the regular Desire. So unless a good speaker volume is REALLY important to you, go for it (I'm talking about the Desire HD of course, I have a european one, not sure about the...

Like egginator said, the Desire HD is one of the best equipped Android devices out now, so if Honeycomb would be available on just about ANY android phone out now, it should also run on the DHD. But I'm still waiting for Gingerbread :)

In the People app just disable the option that shows all the "recent" contacts, the same way you disable viewing all the "facebook contacts" in your list as well. This is what I do.

I know the Alarm Clock reminder would ring even if on silent, and calendar events would vibrate (if you have the option on) when on silent. I'm sure there's something on the Market for that -HTC Desire HD

I have the HD, before I had the nokia N900 Maemo device. It is a gorgeous phone, I don't regret even for a second. ONLY thing tho, my girl has the regular Desire, and her ringtone, speaker volume is slightly stronger than my HD. unless those are of grave importance to you, go for the HD. On...
