Three questions about the new update

Thanks for that correction, Count: I was basing my own statement on what I saw a number of posters saying. Checked your suggestion, and got a warning that the only way to turn back on was unplug power, and replug power. Didn't go through with it, but certainly looks as if will indeed power off.

Three questions about the new update

The shield cannot be turned off, as far as I know. You can "sleep" it by long-press on the Back button of the controller. Before consider rolling back, try the Sideload channel app: let's you customize the channels/add your own far more than the pre-Oreo version. I now have my home screen...

Just got a DEX station [emoji106]

Way back when I was tempted to buy the Samsung S2 multi-media dock to use with my Galaxy Note Pro. Ummed and aahhed until the damn thing disappeared from the market place. Is it at all feasible that the Note Pro could be connected by a cable to the Dex, and would it work??

When will Android allow playing of multi-channel flac files

I recently bought the Nvidia shield TV 2017 with Android Nougat on it, plus Kodi etc. Amazed to discover, after much searching and querying many forums, and querying Nvidia as well, that apparently it is a limitation of Android OS (even this latest Nougat version) that prevents development of...

How can I access a USB hard drive plugged into my wifi router?

Re: Access a USB hard drive plugged into my wifi router For the record, don't know why I didn't update this ages ago, as I have successfully been accessing the USB Hard drive plugged into the router for well over 18 months, both over wifi via my Note Pro and Blu-ray player, and subsequently via...

Running Android 6.0.1 on a Samsung Tab pro

To both posters wanting to run Android 6, I suspect your only option would be to root your tablets. Then your options are wide open. Even the new android N which I believe is now only a few weeks away. But don't think, because I have put this forward, that you can ask me how!!!! I have never...

Seagate Slim plus for note pro 12.2

Works great. Also have a WD 3TB plugged into my router which I access over wifi. Sorry, initially misread your picture - of course, the OTG is what's plugged into your tablet.

    Out of Stock!?

Yep, not an Android tablet but a windows tablet. Wonder if they think people did not buy the idea that Android can be a productivity platform?

Seagate Slim plus for note pro 12.2

Just for clarification, fatyank, the cable you have labelled "Power Cable for drive" is - to me - the OTG part of the y cable. That is, it's primary function is to allow the tablet to read the drive. Yes, while you have the other part of the y cable in (which to me is the power cable) it will...

Quick Settings list in settings (Note PRO 12.2) Android 5.0.2

Actually just reading the original post, unmounting a drive can be done from the drop-down notification panel without going into settings. When an OTG drive is attached, the drop-down panel includes an additional panel to unmount any attached usb storage device.

Seagate Slim plus for note pro 12.2

What muzzy said sounded pretty much what I believe I have read - the use of one mode flicks a switch to turn off the other mode (OTG vs charging). I have recently bought a "y" on the go cable - its a full micro USB 3 plug to go into the Note Pro (that is, a two-part plug, not just a micro usb 2...

Quick Settings list in settings (Note PRO 12.2) Android 5.0.2

Some customisation can be done by pulling down the notifications panel from the top of the screen and then tapping the button in top right corner. The panel will now include a pencil icon in the top right corner. Tapping this then takes you to the Settings Device page, but with a choice of...

Seagate Slim plus for note pro 12.2

Everything I have read seems to suggest that even the various "y" cables that provide an on-the-go connection and a power connection will not (and perhaps as a result of android design, can not) do both. Some may reduce tablet power usage by providing power to the OTG attachments (hard drive...
