If I use Message+ (Verizon) am I understanding correctly that the update won't affect the custom tones?

Once you enable it in settings the swipe works..either left to right or right to left. I use it all the time.

My sister is now on AT&T and I am on Verizon... can she take my old S6 edge and use it there? And how will she get the updates when they come thru? Is there a way I can send her them from my S7?
