    If you forget to check the Amazon Appstore App daily, there's an app that notifies you at any given time. I've found this to be quite useful as I never miss out on any of the free apps.     Swype Problems

    I had the same problem, but if you really want to use the newest version of Swype you could always download GO SMS Pro, a substitute for the default text messaging app.
