Time for Google to make its own devices

Two questions come to mind when reading the OP's comments. 1) How exactly will Samsung "fork" Google? Samsung would have to release it's own OS. Exactly where would they get content and apps? Puh-leeze don't suggest they would go Windows! That would be ridiculous. Just look at the lack...

Did they fix Move App to SD card or R they going to be like Apple

Re: Did they fix Move App to SD card or R they going to be like A I never moved apps to SD, but I just checked my GNex and XOOM, both running Jelly Bean from eos. Neither can move apps to SD. Never missed it, because I never needed it. I just use the SD on the XOOM for movies.

Is Android Turning Into What Palm Should Have Been?

We are all a products of our prior experience. No single experience/job defines us. Android is not turning into what Palm should have been. Android is turning into what Android should be. It is the product of all the developers and managers experiences.

Phone heat up with jelly bean

I don't think this is normal. I'm running the eos Jelly Bean nightlies on a Verizon GNex and have no heat issue at all. Nor did I have a heat issue with ICS.

    ota jelly action?

You are so right! IMHO, most people are wary of rooting because of all the warnings and disclaimers about turning their phone/tablet into a brick. This is very unlikely to happen unless they are a "mad clicker" and launched into the endeavor without pre-reading or understanding the simple...

Send a complaint to Google Play about Nexus 7 shipping

What was that? I'm sorry, I couldn't understand you. Can you repeat yourself? It sounded just like a little girl crying. :'(

    xoom getting jellybean

Verizon dragged their heels on the ICS update for XOOM. It was a "back burner" project. Unfortunately, Verizon-XOOM owners aren't very numerous and don't command much respect as a segment of their business. The XOOM is still considered a GED by Google and will get Jelly Bean. Also, Google...

    XDA - Jellybean on XOOM

Head over to the XDA forums and see michie's thread for a taste of Jellybean. [06/07] [ROM] [PORT] 4.1 Jelly Bean PREVIEW 2 - xda-developers Remember to Nandroid, because this isn't a daily driver. Nice! I can't wait until we have some daily drivers out there. ...and remember to donate if...

    Xoom vs. Nexus 7

I love my XOOM and it's size, but I just broke down and ordered a Nexus 7. At $250 (for the large mem) it'll be good for laying around the house... bathroom, etc... I'm very eager to play with Jellybean.

    Android Cheap iPhones?

Great point! We've been seeing a trend away from memory cards. It would be good for everyone if that trend reverses. The "cloud" is great, but not if it means a small cost must be incurred every time data is accessed.

    Android Cheap iPhones?

dn0rk, What you're saying is there are economies built into the Android ecosystem that fit your needs better than the iOS ecosystem can. That fact doesn't make Android phones the "poor man's iPhone" nor does it make Android the "blue collar OS of the smartphone world." That would be like...

Google 'accelerating' development of its own voice assistant

Sorry Shadowriver. I'm having trouble following your writing. I think I disagree with at least half of what you wrote. ;-) ...but it's hard to pull out your points and address them. Clearly I misunderstood what you meant by "natural talk." I thought you meant context recognition, which is...

    Xoom vs. Nexus 7

I'd buy a Nexus 10. 7 inches isn't appealing to me. If it were, I'd probably buy one, so I say go for it.

    I'm so pissed at apple!

23 posts and nobody cites the actual restriction? Holy Cow, I know I keep sounding like an old guy, but for Pete's sake people, doesn't anyone even try to understand the issue before blabbering about it? Here ya go: There is more, but that is the meat of it. The bolding and italics were...
