If you're with a carrier that supports unlocked bootloaders, then this option allows you to unlock your bootloader. From there, you are free to install custom recoveries, root your phone, and install alternate roms and other mods. I'm with AT&T. I'll likely never get to do this with my V10.

You can't if you're using the stock launcher. You'll need to replace it with another one like Nova.

This method worked great. Driver setup was a challenge for my setup and had to flash using the force flash option as the first flash didn't take. Before you relock the bootloader, you have to go into development settings and re-enable "unlock bootloader" before you lock it. A little...

Save them to your pc's desktop via usb then flash away. That's what I'm about to do tonight.
