Tried both already but screen just goes on and off with the same pattern. I suspect the screen driver is corrupted somehow... If anyone has had same problem and found a solution or means to reload software/screen driver would appreciate it.

My Galaxy S3 froze. At restart frozen on start up screen. Hadvto remove battery to turn off. After many trials kept stopping on start screen. Tried to go into recovery, ended up with Download ...Do not turn off target. After no action had to remove battery to turn off. Now on restart get black...
