Much thanks for this. My HTC10 just got the Oreo update and this location notification was indeed annoying. Your fix worked like a charm. I ended up switching the location setting to battery saver anyway, but if i ever have to go back to high accuracy, at least I won't get that annoying alarm...

I have read lots of threads about wifi issues with the HTC 10. Slow wifi speeds and connections dropping. Has this been fixed? Does anyone know how widespread this problem is? Thinking about pulling the trigger on the 10 but the wifi issues are giving me second thoughts.

Was your M8 on Marshmallow? I have an M8 and started having problems with bluetooth audio connection in my BMW after the Marshmallow upgrade. Before that I never had any issues.

In your OP you say the HTC 10 is the last phone you reach for on your way out the door for the day. Here you say " I've been using the HTC 10 since launch on the 18th and everyday since". Both of those things can't be true. Epic fail.

I had the Spigen Slim Armor on my M8, and yes it is slippery. And also bulky. The phone was constantly sliding out of my pocket and slipped out of my hands several times. Finally dropped it flat on the screen and cracked the hell out of it. Got the screen replaced, now I have a 5 dollar...

I don't get all the issues with Verizon "bloatware". It takes like a minute to go in and disable whatever you don't use. Then you never see it again.

I have this Fosmon clear case on my M8. They also make one for the 10. Very nice case, slim and adds some grip to the phone but doesn't cover up the design of the phone. DURA-T Case for HTC 10 - Fosmon p.s. It is only 5.99 on Amazon.

It's all about personal preference. :-) Personally I can't stand Samsung phones. The glossy all glass build makes them a fingerprint magnet and an accident waiting to happen. It doesn't seem like they could survive even the slightest fall. And touchwiz and the overly saturated screens aren't...

According to phonearena size compare, the HTC 10 is almost exactly the same size as the M8. The S7 Edge is slightly larger. Visual Phone Size Comparison
