I have the same problem on my regular Galaxy s7. With mine it is a very small halftime teardrop in the top left corner and I can drag it out just an eighth of an inch and that's all. Pressing on it doesn't do anything and it goes away in apps but showes up on the home screen. It isn't a big deal...
