As much as i liked the samsung keyboard, i finally broke down and switched to swiftkey. its taking some getting used to (change is never easy!) but it solves this problem.

I hate to switch off of the samsung keyboard, i love that it has the number line at the top.

I'm having this also on the S6... it JUST started doing this on the marshmallow update last month. A few suggested disabling autocorrect, but won't that eliminate autocorrect on everything? I just want to disable it on these goofy exclamation point corrections when there is nothing spelled wrong.

Actually i think i just figured this out. I have an app to change my volume periodically (off at night on in the morning) and i think its setting my system notification ringtone as well. Sorry for the confusion!

For those that the ES file explorer solution worked for, do you have issues with it reverting? I've tried that in the past, and I just tried it again but eventually my system notification ringtone gets set to match twitter again.

Sorry for bumping an old thread, but did you ever find a solution to this? I'm dealing with the same thing - pictures copied from my old phone keep disappearing on my new phone. Thankfully I kept them on my PC so I'm able to put them back, but then a few weeks later a handful will be missing...
