I am just curious what the benefits are, if any, in buying an unlocked phone. I put my order in for the Nexus 5 through the Play store the other day and this will be my first unlocked handset. I also am wondering why Google has opted to offer this phone unlocked.

I have a Galaxy Nexus and feel the camera is decent. Nothing special and nothing horrible. I am thinking about grabbing a Nexus 4 now that Google slashed the prices. So, is the difference between the cameras on both phones big/noticeable?
