Tried all of that and then a full factory reset. No change. Except now even the led notification light has stopped working.

I did call them. They offered two solutions. 1. Change from a post-paid sim to a pre-paid sim. 2. Do a factory reset. Both have absolutely nothing to do with the problem. I thought he was next going to ask me to try shifting to a protein heavy diet and see if it helps.

I checked, no multiple entries. The same set of google contacts have travelled from s3 to s4 and now to m8. Never had any trouble before. The perks of having the best phone in the world, no one knows how to fix the problem, not even the HTC guys themselves. :'(
