I had the same charging problem and was in another forum yesterday- their advice was to use a non-usb charger from an old phone. Worked very well! My phone charged up to 100% very fast.

I wish- I just upgraded to the S3 in Dec, so will have to see what the newest device is in 20 months........sigh. That being said, still discovering new things about the S3 all the time :)
