Exact same thing happens to me. I gave up and bought the samsung, which has had not a single problem or drop. Its def. related to the tbolt (and from what I've seen, tbolt with mac (as opposed to windows/PCs).

To be brutally honest (I'm not trying to be an ass here), but if you dont understand what a kernel is/does, the chances are 99.9% that you dont need an alternate kernel and you should just stick with whatever kernel is included with your ROM (stock or not).

I dont think its VZW's network. Tethering works great for hours on end with this new LTE based Samsung dedicated hotspot, and with a friends 3G phone and wth a 3G mifi a coworker has. Feels like the Tbolt to me.

I'm using the smartass governer with min/max 245/1.03 and have noticed (a completely unscientific) improvement in battery life. I can use the phone all day now while leaving WiFi and LTE on.
