Do you put it in airplane mode and then take it out any time you boot the phone? (just hold the power button for 2 seconds to get the menu for that.) Since I taught my family to do that we've had no battery trouble on all three of our OV phones. Michael

I just use Google Voice. It doesn't seem to have any trouble with it being a prepaid phone--I never heard about that being a problem. It works over wifi or 3G. Michael

Re: Nov voice from SVOX Victoria after a week No, it isn't the volume. When I try to play a sample sentence it returns almost immediately, so I can tell that it isn't trying. Also, I emailed the sample voice output to myself and the WAV file was empty. Somehow the app is totally messed up.

Thanks for the pointer. I found it here: GPS Navigator gets you and gets you there. Install TeleNav Now. but it doesn't know about the Optimus V (or S). What device should I claim to be in order for it to work? LG devices it supports are GelatoQ and LG-LS855. Thanks, Michael

Does that work even for the stock, factory ROM, or only for custome ROMs? I went through the steps in http://forum.androidcentral.com/virgin-mobile-optimus-v/57943-excessive-battery-drain-even-standby.html#post579387 which seemed to work, but toggling airplane mode would be a lot easier.
