I was out of warranty also. Ring your local Asus service centre and request a repair quote. I had tried everything else, to no avail.

I had a similar problem. Sent it off to Asus in Australia (after making some calls first) expecting a quote for repair. Got it back in 8 days, storage growing to 32gb...work sheet said bios, firmware, software upgrade. (It already had 4.3, and while it isn't 4.4, it does seem different) No...

Just a follow up to this... 8 business days later and i have received my tablet back! Need to investigate further...job sheet says software update, but it still reads as 4.3 although it is different??? Having said that, it has come back as a 32gb when i'm sure it left as a 16gb! Either way...

Thanks Golfdriver. I think i'll take it out again and see if it maintains charge over time. Then i may have to contact ASUS, but i don't like my chances as it's well over 12 months old.
