do you really feel this design was a positive idea, which may just work or just some flacid attempt from a company to get into the android business?

I actually like the samsung keypad a lot. I've used swype so long it's just gotten kinda old.

Sound Setting>audible touch tones does dial pad as well as keyboard and of course audible selection does all other selection sounds

Yes, until someone makes an odin flashable CWM for froyo you'll have to ODIN back to DL09, install 2.1 CWM, flash 2.2 rom then flash new cwm in current 2.1 cwm.

what do you all think of the new and improved touchwiz? They have cleaned it up and made it look slick imo, not that i prefer it over stock android. At least now it's not as painful to look at.

Nobody should be scared of Voodoo, all it does is change the filesystem to a better performing one that of ext4. Why samsung chose to make their own filesystem for their phones idk, but it will cause depression from quadrant lol. Linpack wise 2.2 on this phone is right up there with the droid 2.

That's samsung's proprietary .rfs filesystem for you. It makes the i/o very crappy benchmark wise. So when you see low quadrant scores from galaxy s phones its the filesystem not the cpu or hardware. Changing the filesystem to ext4, which is exactly what "voodoo" kernel does, will make quadrant...
