Both IOS and Android have pros and cons. I love Android because it is highly customizable, and love IOS because of its strong and clear design. But if you never used Android before, it is definitely a good time to try! :-)

Try to support ALL screens and resolutions, with a minimal Android version (2.2+ is a good choice). It is not very hard, if you create your game with dynamic layout in mind from the beginning. In my games, I support all screens from 240x320 up to 1920x1200+.

It is possible to install apps to Kindle Fire with ADB from Android SDK. But of course a little technical knowledge is needed to install SDK. Run in the command line: adb install somefile.apk
