your just tricking your phone I use my jbl ear buds at work in high mode dont want to ruin my good head phones.this phone is made to kick in at a higher level when you plug in a higher price set of headphones.you can get the same effect with cheaper ear buds when you dont want to ruin your good...

get a trrs 4 conductor male to female headphone adapter it will kick in high impedence mode.will work with any ear bud headphone use this on my v10 to got on ebay paid 8 dollars for 2.got back in may
