If you factory reset does that clear your cache partition as well? or do i have to do them seperately?

I bought a Android phone that works great with standard headphone jacks but headphones with a inline mic (Apple Earpods, Samsung Earphones Etc.) don't seem to work, dust or lint is not the problem and the headphones work with other phones but mine isn't supported? Any help would be great!
