I would like to know how to transfer contacts from my old phone that were stored locally on the phone. My Gmail contacts have all transferred but I have quite a few that were locally stored. Without MicroSD it seems tough to get them to transfer. Thoughts?

Well, I use Rdio for music. It seems like local storage is the bacon fat in the veins of a smart phone. The more you eat, the slower the phone gets. Perhaps best to keep things light.
