I print from the browser in much the same way. Just hit the "Share" option and then choose Print from the list that appears. It found my wifi printer without a problem.

It isn't exactly what you want, but you can have just the battery meter and not the percentage (Settings -> Batttery -> Uncheck the "Battery percentage" option). I just wish that "Battery meter" was also an option....
