I did PlumbBob's fix last week after flashing Darky's ROM and the GPS has been the best it's ever been; very accurate. And I agree, a big part is the modem used.

Root Explorer has been the best $4.00 I've spent. (It's actually the only app I've ever bought, I'll go the cheap/free route everytime.) It's a little tricky to use and because it gives you complete access to the phone's files, it can be a little dangerous.

Same here. I'm quite happy with di11i's v6 ROM. No AT&T stuff, has mobile ap, decent gps, etc...

You can change it with adb. There are a couple of videos on this but I personally am having problems with it. adb recognizes the phone but won't do a remount in order to change the protected files. Per some other threads, I've ensured the phone is rooted and has busybox (running di11i v6 ROM)...

I don't see this on a 2.1 Captivate. You can go into Settings, press Call Settings, press All Calls, press Auto reject. Enable Auto reject. Then go into the Call Log from Phone and press on the contact you want to reject and press Menu (bottom left next to Home) and press Add To Reject List...

My bad.....Even though it looks exactly like the standard Calendar, my updated Calendar (from a 2.2 ROM) has a sixth option "Search" besides the five you listed. I've looked at another Captivate and don't see any way to do a search on the stock calendar. Sorry :(

While in calender view, press Menu (bottom left), press Search, type in the event keyword and press GO (bottom right of keyboard) or the event that pops up.

Go into Settings, press Applications, press Manage applications, press StayAlive (or whatever it's called). Press the Uninstall button. That should be all you need to do.

In Apps goto My Files, press Media, press Audio, press Ringtones. Long press the ringtone that you want to edit (hold down and don't let go) until a menu pops up. Rename as you want.
