Probably because it is exclusive to AT&T, which kept it out of reach for most people. That doesn't help the popularity...

For people who are unlocked on another network, seem like you can update through Smart Switch. I am seeing the new update despite not seeing any of the previous patches before. And since the new update is for 5.1.1, I assume it would include all the previous patches.

Well, 5.1.1 has finally appeared on the S6 Active firmware list, so the update should be coming fairly soon now. At least this counters people who were saying that AT&T decided not to update to 5.1.1 at all... What is the software version on my Samsung Galaxy S6 active?

I given up on getting status update on Samsung Pay or updates for the Active. It seem like every person just keep getting conflicting information, probably so they rep can get off the phone. I'll just take it a day at a time and just pray that we will get the update soon...

I agree with everything you said. At this point, what 5.1.1 offers is limited for the Active since we already have decent battery life. I would love to know what you decided in the end. Like you, I was having troubles with the Active and factory resetting it yesterday made most of the problems disappear. But the Nexus 6P is very tempting with the quick update compared to our reliance on AT&T.

I wouldn't put too much stock in this. It seems like nobody in AT&T knows exactly what is going on with the Active. I have heard people on XDA who got response from a FCC complaint that AT&T had given up on releasing 5.1.1 for the S6 Active. But then, there are people who said they got AT&T reps...

I would love to find a way to get the AT&T updates. I am in Canada, so getting a hold of an AT&T SIM card is not really a possibility....
