You might need to clean the mic holes in the bottom of your phone. Those little holes get dirty and will affect your phone calls as well. That should do it!

Check the small microphone holes on the bottom of the phone. There are two of them. Use a small pin or a needle and clean those holes out. Hopefully that will fix your problem. I have had this happen and it is annoying that there are such small microphone holes. You can test to see if it works...

I stopped purchasing music from Google Play for that reason. I use Amazon's music app instead and my music can be played on all apps.

I have not seen any difference in battery drain since I've went to Lollipop. I use my phone on my breaks and lunches and work an 8 hour day, with a 40 minute drive to work. My phone was at 85% when I left work. I always toggle mobile data off when heading back to work.
