That's good to know. Is safe mode sufficient to rule out the apps? Before I factory reset, I'm trying safe mode and not touching the phone -- the battery has dropped 10% in a little more than 1 hour.

I uninstalled Messenger, put the phone in airplane mode and 6 hours later it's down 50% with no use at all. Something is seriously wrong. Same slope on the battery use. I'm going to factory reset the phone and see if it's any different. It's not worth the $399 I paid if I can't get 12 hours...
