I had a similar problem with suddenly not being able to turn it on. Power and Down-Volume buttons at the same time. Suggested time was 20 seconds. This worked for me, but perhaps a different issue altogether.

I found my answer on the VerizoneWireless site. Hold the Power and down-volume together. Suggested time was 20 seconds. This will restart your phone. It worked like a charm for me just now. I was afraid, as the other users reference "reset", but it just restarts it, so no fear of losing...
