when i put on speakerphone while in a call people can't hear me.

i noticed when i would record videos and play them back there would be a loud static sound and you can't hear anything else. At first i thought i damaged the microphone or the speaker but the i used the voice recorder on my phone and it works perfectly and yet the when i take videos it still...
