    Long answer short nope, you don't need to root your device for flashing. usually flashing will remove root if you have it

    phone problem

    Go to recovery and clear cache then wipe data / factory reset

    Battery of App problem?

    you can tell if your phone's battery is bad by putting it on a flat surface and trying to "spin" it . If it spins, supposedly the battery is swollen and needs to be replaced. Go to recovery and clear cache this may solve it
