I've had very similar issues, but with Samsung Galaxy 10.1 slimline tab. It doesn't seem to make any difference whether I use the samgung mail client, or touchdown, they both eventually freeze, and I then get stuck in a loop where every time i try to change/reset/resave the connection settings...
