Cricket is getting the S7, but not the S7 Edge. The AT&T Edge will work with Cricket, but there is the added AT&T bloatware.

I preordered mine and got it on Monday from Best Buy. It probably depends on the store, but I overheard some employees say that people could buy them and take them home now without a preorder, but they wouldn't get the VR or memory card unless they picked it all up on Friday.

Correct, a locked at&t Edge will work on Cricket. There is plenty of bloatware specific to AT&T that you'll have to disable and can't delete. AT&T Remote Support CAN'T be disabled or deleted (92kb). I was able to disable these apps: AT&T Locker (576 KB), AT&T Protect Plus 172 KB, Device...
