Have just recently bought the 2nd gen Moto G and quite happy with it. But there is a small issue. On the original Moto g the network operator was displayed at top on notification bar. But the 2nd gen Moto G with the same Android 4.4.4 does not display this unless you pull down the notification...

Its atually wondeful and rare for most smartphones to have only used 24% in 1 day.

You could try letting it discharge until it turns off, then charging it without restarting till fully charged. This may retune its battery level readings.

How do you start the Moto G in safe mode please?

My original black one feels rubbery but my red extra shell which I haven't used yet feels plasticky with no coating on it.

try using Motorola Migrate app and follow the prompts. Will need to add this to your old phone too maybe? May only work with other android phones but may work with Nokia.
