I think you will be fine, as a rule the newer batteries don't like to be fully discharged and if done continuously it could shorten its life but doing it a few time shouldn't harm it.

I think that range is also dependent on the phone but I get 30 40 feet easy and I have gotten over 90 for short stints

The GPS is working for me but the reception sucks. Takes a long time to connect and need to be outside in the open. My Blackberry kicks its **** in this respect. I can get a signal on the train or in my house.
Ok so I tried the figure 8 calibration technique and I think that fixed the issue. The compass seems to be working properly now. I will need to keep an eye on this, if there are any changes I will report back
I read that there is a know camera bug with KitKat that people with Skype are having KitKat giving you battery drain problems? Try uninstalling Skype, says Google as it prepares a fix | ZDNet
Try deleting Skype if you have it and see if that might be the issue

My international G2 D-802 was updated to Kit Kat yesterday. It messes up knock on but everything else seems to be ok. The battery life has seemed to improved a bit too
