I'm running m1 as well and have not experienced this problem, nor do I remember it being listed as a bug. Battery saving apps and task killers can cause problems with MMS, so if you're using one you may want to un-install and see if that changes anything. I'd also check out rootzwiki and xda...

You have to install Android File Transfer in order for your Mac to recognize your phone Android.com . You can transfer files this way, or by downloading applications such as Dropbox, AirDroid, etc.

Did you try using different kernels? I was having issues at first with build 3, played around with a couple kernels, and now am running smooth with franco's m5.
