Just an idea, but have you tried to remove all saved Navigator data? I don't remember motoblur rom, but on CM7 in app menu was this option. It's easier way than hard reset. What I have tried, Oruxmaps are able to use compass, but this app is not good for navigation. Higher linked MapFactor is...
