A big thanks for this. I was trying to Re Set UP Sync for my email accounts on my Note 2. Quick Goog search and this was the first thread i checked and your advice above fixed my ills. The problem came up when i updated to 4.1.2 (Telstra in Australia) as Sync was no longer in the pull down menu...
