Excellent explanation! (Feels weird, no pun intended, but) Thanks anuswax!

    Google Voice and N4

Thanks Patrick. I think I got the voice part down but I have issues with SMS. People (I know) have not been recognizing my texts because the SMS is using my cell phone number rather than my GV number. I text with the stock SMS app. I don't see a setting to use GV number for texts from the stock...

    Google Voice and N4

If I want my GV number to show, do I have to use the GV app only? I can't just use stock OEM dialer and messages after setting the Settings in cp. 2nd, incoming texts are not sender's numbers.

[GUIDE] Nexus 4 - Factory Image Restore

I think I solved my own problem. If the password screen shows up, cancel and then clear both caches and do a factory reset. After that, my phone booted up fine.

    Bricked my phone

Just an update...I booted into TWRP and then cleared the cache and the other cache and did a factory reset. The phone started up fine. I was even able to flash ParanoidAndroid's ROM and my phone is up and running.

[GUIDE] Nexus 4 - Factory Image Restore

I followed the steps and I get stuck at boot up with the "X". I boot into TWRP and it asks me for a password. I had my phone encrypted before and I used that password, but it's not working. Is there a generic password that I can try. I think that is what is messing with the startup of the phone.

    Bricked my phone

Figured out why the image-occam-jdq39.zip file wasn't loading. It wasn't in my fastboot directory on my computer. It's going now and I'm crossing my fingers...Google startup screen...(after a long wait) Nexus logo...(even longer excruciating wait)...how long should I be waiting? It's been 10...

    Bricked my phone

I also noticed on the bootloader screen that it is still encrypted (SECURE BOOT-enabled). After wiping the phone, shouldn't that be disabled?

    Bricked my phone

I solved one problem, but now I'm hitting another. I must've downloaded the wrong factory image, but anyways, I got the right one (occam-jdq39) and everything was going well until the last step (fastboot-windows -w update image-occam-jdq39.zip). It says error: failed to load...

    Bricked my phone

Thanks 2def. I followed your guide to flash back to factory image (4.2.2) and I had to go the route (through fastboot) of flashing boot.img, system.img, recovery.img, and userdata.img separately. The first ones went fine, but when I got to flashing the userdata.img, it would send, but it would...

    Bricked my phone

Hi, I think I'm in trouble. I was trying to flash a custom ROM, but it kept hanging at startup and wouldn't go anywhere and so I decided to flash 4.2.2, but I did something wrong. So I went into TWRP and it asks for my password. My phone was encrypted and so I entered that password and it didn't...

Nexus 4 Screenshots: Share them here!

I'll post my home screen soon, but I really like the SG3's calendar app/widget plus the notification bar. Any way to get that on the N4 or something similar?
