On my Thrive, the colors are messed up--like an old color newspaper with misaligned color plates. I'll try again soon to see if there is a newer version.

You need to configure your phone to disable mobile data. This leaves Wi-Fi enabled. The phone shown here is a never-rooted Thrive running Android 2.2.2 (Froyo). This should work on 2.2.1 as well. (The USB and DEBUG icons in the status bar are there to let me take screen shots using Droid...

Re: Force 2g/EDGE on LG Phoenix??? A silver lining is that the phone's hardware is intact. On another brand of Go-phone, they physically disabled the WLAN/WiFi functions. I haven't found a parallel in the Thrive yet, but I'm puzzled as to why ATT would disable those options on a Phoenix...

Same here. We have two, and one had little problems with an OTA. The other one will never complete checking or will give me the exact error you describe.
