I don't know if that's the case. I ordered at 12:04PM EST and CSR has stated that I will receive my device tomorrow or Wednesday, the latest. Worth noting, however, I haven't yet received tracking information, though I did not receive a backordered email.

Oh boy. Two shipping notifications have been received. The suspense is terrible. I hope it'll last.
