Pixel XL vs 6T or 3a XL? (fingerprint, fast charging)

I’m not a fan of the fingerprint sensor on my 6T. It works but it’s temperamental. Most likely because I have a tempered glass screen protector on it. I have both thumbs and index fingers registered and I swear that the index fingers work better for me for some reason. It does work, its just...

    Battery Life Really good

Agree, the 6T is the best phone I’ve ever had in terms of standby battery drain. I’m not one that racks up a lot of SOT daily or takes their battery south of 50% but I appreciate how efficient the phone is nonetheless. Due to that efficiency I no longer leave the phone on the charger overnight...

Sigh.. One plus pro 7 weight

It’s more than an iPhone XS Max yes but by less than the weight of a dime despite having a larger screen and battery.

    Sync question

Yep, tested it on my 2012 rMBP just now. It took a tiny bit of fiddling but basically once connected my 6T decides to go straight to charge mode rather than File Transfer mode so I then have to toggle things back to File Transfer mode and then the Mac is able to access the files.

    Syncing issue

If you can get your Android phone on the same network as your Mac you could use an app on the phone like Airdroid to transfer things wirelessly. https://play.google.com/store/apps/details?id=com.sand.airdroid

    1+7 leaks.

Same. I typically like to place tempered glass screen protectors on my devices so having the curved edge screen is a concern for me.

    Show us your home screen

Yup. Function over form for some of us. When I unlock my phone I want quick access to my frequently used applications without diving into an app tray. Wallpapers are meaningless to me. Many of my folders/icons have swipe up gestures associated with them for quick access to certain...

Wish 6T had Pixel 3 Like Camera

Kinda just is what it is. I have two lines as well, primary was a Pixel XL and secondary was an iPhone 6. Replaced the iPhone with a 6T and within a week swapped lines with the Pixel. All a matter of priorities. Bright lighting I don’t miss the Pixel but in low light I do. Not going to...

    Weather Widget

Today Weather is my go to. Particularly like it's inclusion of data from windy.com. For simple raining or not info Google assistant is ok but I want more details I want to see maps, especially if I'm going out to paddle where wind and ocean swell patterns matter to me.

    Verizon Pixel work on ATT?

AT&T doesn’t support advanced calling features on non-AT&T devices period. Been like that for years. Many won’t miss the features but some will. Some like myself will get frustrated with whacky MMS group text behavior with Samsung users on other carriers whose texts can’t be seen in group...

Is this still a good phone?

My Pixel XL is a great phone. So much so that the Pixel XL 2 and 3 seem like incremental upgrades that aren’t compelling enough for me to want to part with the money Google wants for them.

How's your XL running these days?

Loving my Pixel XL. Purchased from Google on release, currently on Verizon on an unlimited plan. I’m running stock rooted with some mods (Dolby, Viper audio, GMD Gesture Control, Tasker and Titanium w/ a bunch of stuff frozen). Absolutely trouble free thus far and loving it, just as...

sms and verizon are on cell phone....are both needed?

When jumping between threads or scrolling back in time yes I agree its slow for me as well. Sometimes annoyingly. It’s livable though since I do find it thus far to be fairly reliable - perhaps more so than other applications that I’ve tried like Mighty Text, Pulse SMS and others that allow...

    Transflective Display Functionality

Makes me think of the Casio Pro Trek line of watches with dual layer display for low power always on and then regular smart watch display for apps and notifications.
