S6 has shown its face, I'll be sticking with the S5 :)

Can't believe it's lost the expandable storage, removable battery and IP certification... Some of the best features of the Galaxy S series IMO. Boohoo. I'm definitely going to be keeping my S5 for the coming years.

    Weird battery life issue

Hmm. Possibly, but hardware is always (in my case anyway) the least likely of all to cause problems (like this) Saying that, it still could be a hardware related issue. Like tsweeney said, you could try a factory reset, making sure you've backed up all your data. I'd try the reset, or even buy...

[Old version][Guide][Samsung] How to flash Stock ROM via ODIN

Re: [Guide][Samsung] How to flash Stock ROM via ODIN Hey Golfdriver, Thanks for the guide, I'd have surely messed something up without it. Now that I'm running my beloved KitKat, I've got to find a way to stop the damn OTA update reminders. Take care!

    Weird battery life issue

Have you recently updated the phone to Lollipop 5.0? Have you also tried clearing the Cache/Misc data files in storage? After updating my GS5 I found my phone got terrible battery life, since then I've gone back to KitKat. You could try installing the Battery Doctor app...

Why does my Samsung Galaxy S5 keep turning off and on by itself?

Re: Why does my Samsung Galaxy s5 keep turning off and on by itself Generally speaking, there could be many possibilities for this. I would try looking through the forum using the search bar, I'm sure your not the first to experience this. Reasons for this to happen could be anything from...

How often do you replace your phone?

I'm very conservative when it comes to expensive flagship phones, I mean.. When I'm spending £500/$700's on something, I really do like to get my 'moneys worth' No less than 24 months normally.

Dark Theme in Lollipop is on its way.

Really hope this becomes a reality! Sick to death of Lollipop, I thought Kids Mode was enabled at first..

    Default contact

You could try HaxSync for Facebook? I haven't tried it, but I believe it would solve the problem...

Can't stand Lollipop.. How do I go back to KitKat?

I think I'm going to use Kies 3.0, it seams the safest/easiest option for me. I've backed everything up, is it as simple as clicking on Tools, Firmware Upgrade and Initialization? Because after clicking, it says "the latest software version will be installed" ..Surely it'll just install...

Where is MTP setting for Lollipop on the S5?

Re: where is MTP setting for lollipop on s5? Recently updated my S5 to Lollipop and connected to PC via USB earlier today and got no problems (MTP) or (PTP) came up as usual.. I'm not sure why it wouldn't come up.

What would be a deal breaker for you in getting the Galaxy S6?

Not that I'll even think of getting the S6 (very happy with my S5) but if I were to consider it, the top deal breakers would be as many others have said 1) No removable battery 2) No expandable memory 3) No IP rating But I doubt these will not be implemented, as these are some of Samsung's key...

is it dangerous to let the phone drain battery down to 0?

This has been the case with some variants of lithium based cells, go check some YouTube vids out, but all modern mobile phone batteries won't fully discharge to the point of no return. They are very safe.

S5 blocking mode uninstalled after update.

Not easily, you'd have to flash the stock ROM onto your device using your PC, a program called Odin. By doing this, you can downgrade back to 4.4.2 KitKat. There are excellent guides on the forum if you wish to do this. This is a basic guide to Odin...

    Car mount with case

I can also recommend the Kenu Airframe, used it for years with my old iPhone. It will fit almost any phone, regardless of size/manufacture.
