I have found that group messages seem to stay chronologically where they started. If you scroll down your list of messages, you may find your missing group message sorted at the date the conversation first started. I think that's poor behavior, but I haven't looked for a fix - I just live with it.

I can't say I know anything about the "innards" of our devices, but did you perhaps try the new screen with your old cable (if that's even possible)?

On desktop Chrome, you can find your Mobile Bookmarks by clicking the 3-bar menu icon, choosing Bookmarks, and then scrolling to the bottom. At least that's how it appears on my system.
