any reason that we couldn't make software that utilizes the other one for 2D? Would it look better if we could overlap the pictures to fill in gaps rather than create the 3D effect? Essentially, could teh hax give us that sweet 10mp shot or something like it?

How much of the picture capture is software related? Could the graininess be something that is caused by a weakness at the software side or is everything 100% hardware?
