If you want to use RCS, and you should, you should simply use Google Messages.

This to me is a total non-response from Google. My home has been set in Google Maps for many years and many iterations of Pixels. That is absolutely not the problem in my case, and I suspect that's true for many of the other people complaining about this. But I do have to say that Smart Lock...

I pre-ordered two. Now I have to figure out what to do with two OG Pixel stands...

It turns out that my phone's location accuracy was low again, once I calibrated the compass Smart Lock started working again. So maybe the latest update didn't address all of my peeves...

I got my Google case, and it's not bad, but there is a definite "halo" around the Google logo on the back... It feels nice. All in all I like the Spigen Ultra Hybrid better.

I knew I shouldn't have typed that! Now it's back to refusing to work...

Smart Lock seems to be working a lot better since the Mid-November update. But I'm still watching it to make sure...

I've noticed a marked improvement in the performance of the FPS, and Smart Lock also seems to be performing much better. That may be because the phone's location is not reporting low accuracy anymore. It may be that Google fixed all my peeves in one update! I knew that they would be able to fix...

UPDATE: I turned Smart Lock Trusted Loaction back on after the mid November update, time will tell if there's any improvement...

My FPS does appear to be opening my phone at least a little faster after the update.

My phone finally finished updating, and I do believe that my FPS opens my phone a little faster now. I wasn't having too much trouble with reliability or repeatability before, so I can't comment on that, but it does appear to be at least a little quicker now.

I'm at the "Optimizing your device..." phase. Taking quite a while as others have already mentioned. I'm trying to remain optimistic. I have to say, even with the hiccups with the FPS and Smart Lock, overall, I really like this phone and I am pleased I upgraded.

Update: Mine is not working at all now, I've turned off trusted places smart lock, it's not worth the bother right now.
