The app backed up the original message db on the phone, to my google one drive account. What if I uninstall the app, delete the local message db (which I know where it is on the phone), then reinstall the app and try to restore the original db backed up before I bricked the phone?

I tried the fingerprint scanner. It's pretty much useless. A million times more aggravating than the above issue. Oh well, if I want to keep the S7 (I can still go back to my S5 until the end of this week), then I'll just have to get use to this major annoyance :-(

I think I'll give up on this. I researched a lot of this online. It sounds like this is a Android O/S 6 function designed to prevent pocket dialing of Emergency Calls. That's why you need to double swipe. I don't think there is any way to get around it....unless....anyone knows of a an App...
