If you don't have HD calling, you will not be able to simultaneously be on a phone call and use data at the same time.

Yes, I bought the Pixel XL from Verizon and I use the Verizon network. I used the beta program to upgrade to Oreo the day it was released. The items that are missing are both HD and WIFI calling features. If you can live without these, by all means upgrade. All else seems to be functioning...

I chatted with Google support and they said this feature is controlled on the carrier side. It's strange that it worked in the 7.1.2 release but no longer after I upgraded to 8.0.
