After re-reading that, I see your issue is WhatsApp specific, mine is just screen recording generically. My WhatsApp, and microphone (Bluetooth) works for voice notes.

Hey there - did you ever resolve this? I am having the same headache trying to record mobile gameplay/screen record. Keeps using internal mic, I see no option, even under developer settings to switch to the Bluetooth microphone. Ridiculously frustrating. Running the latest software...
